Woo! Waiting for my heart to slow down after 10 minutes of hard dancing to 'Watch out for the Big Girls', I can't help but smile at the pleasure of being a thick girl.

Social media is cheering #TeamThickums lately now more than ever as plus size women receive favorable recognition. The most recent buzz comes from Fashion Nova introducing its plus size line, Curve. Their announcement comes after the successful launch of Rihanna's Savage X Fenty, an alluring assortment of lingerie catering up to sizes 3X and 44D.

For a long time, disproportionately figured women received negative criticism for not being "in shape". While tummy fat and a pooch were considered unappealing features, excess body fat in the hips, buttocks and thighs were identified as commercially attractive. The next time you hear a song, listen to how a rapper or musician talks about their love interest or someone they’re trying to belittle (this part is usually a female rapper dissing another female).

Now that the world is shifting and becoming more open minded, the fashion community is embracing plus size women of all shapes. In the media scope as well, celebrities are embracing weight gain with pride.  Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway and Rihanna are advocators for getting thicker and I applaud them.

On Instagram, actress Anne Hathaway shutting down the haters before the trolling starts as she prepares for an upcoming movie role.

Whether you’ve been thick/plus-size recently or for awhile, you’ve got to take a stand that your current shape is your choice and that you love yourself. Because if you don’t, you will be victim to other people who will try to tear you down emotionally. Big girl tip: The next time someone has the audacity to insult your weight or flaunt theirs as better than yours, tell ‘em “ Yeah but at least it makes your man cum” then smile and walk away. It will totally leave them speechless and by the time they have something half decent to say, you already have your back towards them with your head held high. But what if they don’t have a man? Tell them “And now you know why!” then slap your thigh or your butt and keep walking away from them sis. Am I advocating cheating? Hell no! But that doesn’t mean your hater’s lover isn’t jerking off to a picture off your social media picture or envisioning doing it with a thickums like you. He or she announced their insecurities by initially being offensive to you, it’s only fair to throw a little shade back while at the same time adoring yourself.

So watch out for the big girls indeed because the celebration of plus size women is here and will not be ignored. *slaps big thigh* RESPECT.
