Incontinence & Me
By definition, incontinence is ___. I’ve not had many of these experiences but there’s been a notable number of times where I’ve had “an accident”.
People made fun of me but in doing so, it made a lot of other people with those issues or who knows someone with those issues insecure, defensive and protective. I relate to all those feelings and it’s taken up to this time for me to speak out about it publicly. First of all, incontinence is something that can happen at ANY age— literally, anyone can have a moment where they’ve wet the bed or themselves. It’s okay and this is a safe space if you’ve done it. Even someone who has stated themselves, that they’ve NEVER had an accident is basically setting themselves up for a karmic experience. Allow me to explain.
Did you know that a woman’s bladder is much weaker when she’s pregnant or recently had a baby.
Also, how we age our body parts do become less strong — no matter how Keigels we do, Samantha, we’re bound to have a bit of leakage.
Drinking too much
Stress
Therefore, I strongly urge you to be mindful of making fun of someone with incontinence or who accidentally wet themselves, unless you want to make your wife, child, your favorite elderly co-worker or grandparents during the holidays feel like shit.
There’s a very thoughtful video I recommend watching, Schitt’s Creek Season 6, Episode 2 ‘The Incident’. I think you would like it.
